Home Made Lip Stain

As we all know, Spring is approaching (not like you could tell with all this terrible weather) and along comes our new beauty routines to fit the weather, style and place. If your like me and you cannot stand your lips having no colour, you'll probably of experienced trying to cope with runny and sticky lipstick in the sweltering heat, NOT good, Not good at all! So I like to turn towards lip stain in the hotter months as I feel they give a lovely natural look to your lips while adding a dash of colour.

So I've been searching the web for recommended lip stains and ones that actually work, when I stumbled across Kool Aid, its an american juice drink but comes in a powder form and when water is added its turns into juice. But when the powder is applied to the lips it instantly stains them and leaves them a gorgeous colour. As they're an american brad its quite hard to get a hold of Kool Aid packets, but luckily there is an American Sweet stand in my local town centre and I popped along to buy a few.

Look and Taste...
The taste is absolutely amazing if you like sour things, its like eating a sour sweet which I LOVE! The look is also really pigmented and red, I bough Grape and orange aswell but i haven't tried them out yet, I wonder how they will look? The smell is also really sweet and sour, Overall I absolutely love Kool aid as a lip stain as its so easy and nice to wear.

Where To Save And Where To Splurge For Teens

As teens we all know how hard it is to save your money and treat yourself to nice bits and bobs (that we probably don't need) athe same time, it just doesn't work. Especially if you don't have a part time job (like me) and still rely on your weekly pocket money from your parentshow depressing eh? well here's a few tips on where to splurge and save in terms on make up and skin care.

Where to splurge...
the key with make up is to get the base right, but for a perfect base you need to look after your skin. so the first thing on the splurge list is Skincare. It is always important to cleanse, tone, and moisturise so if your looking for somewhere to splash your cash its defiantly in the skincare department, as were only teens a really good brand is La Roche Posay as it doesn't break the bank but is just a little expensive so you know it actually works, at a price of around £15 a bottle you should certainly invest your money in to these baby's.

After skin care is for your base, if your base isn't right then the rest of your make up will not sit on top of it right, so its important to put a good primer and foundation at the top of your list. If your stuck in terms of foundation then pop into your local Debenhams and try out all the different ones at the counter. As were only teens, we obviously don't want to break the bank so aim for somewhere in the price range of £15-£30 as that should without a doubt get you an excellent foundation. In terms of a primer, this makes your make up last longer and fill in your pores, so therefore your going to want to get the best to can. I often use Revlon or Mac but £10+ should set you right.
Where to save...

After you've spent all your pocket money on creating your perfect base you barely have enough for a single eye shadow, so in terms of saving your money its very easy! After you've applied your foundation and what not, it doesn't really what your place on top of it (powder, blush, eye shadow, mascara) therefore, that's exactly were you need to save your money. Use drug store brands such a Revlon, Rimmel, Elf, Nyx, Boujour paris ect... they are all extremely good products but at low prices even starting at £1. Also try out Ebay as you can get a serious bargain on there, along with my eyelashes which i absolutely love and only cost me £3, as long as you have a decent eyelash glue you good to go. So get your self to the nearest drug store and check out the high street brands as they could be saving you a fortune.

Good luck with your splurging and saving!

Thank you

NYX Butter Gloss And Soft Matte Cream

I recently ordered 1 matte lip cream and 1 butter gloss from NYX, I had high hope for these two lip creams as I had heard good reviews from some of my favourite Vloggers on You Tube. The packaging is the fist thing that impressed me as they just look so yummy and edible, the great colours just make you want to eat them. So even before opening the lip creams I was overwhelmed. Then the smell hit me, they smell absolutely gorgeous,
especially the Soft Matte Cream. The scent of vanilla and cupcakes is so yummy and delicious that they're good enough to eat, so when applied to the lips they taste so nice and smell heavenly. Now for the colour, the butter gloss is seriously pigmented and is more like a glossy lip stick, I got the colour peaches and cream but in my opinion its not peachy at all, its more of a Barbie pink, which I absolutely love. It glides on like silk and is really think but not sticky at all, which is really impressive as most lip glosses are sticky.  I ordered the colour Antwerp in the soft matte lip cream and its a dark pink with a brown undertone and really applies nicely to the lips, its not drying at all and really quite moisturising, so i was really surprised. After about 2 minutes it dries to a matte finish but is still very soft.

All in all I seriously love both of the lip creams and would recommend the to anyone as they are really quite cheap at £5-£.50.

OPI Top This Package Review

I always enjoy using and buying OPI products as they are very hard wearing and are very pigmented, although they are very pricey. I try to catch them in the sale at my local Sallys Store or I often look on-line on websites like www.hereforaday.com as they have a new deal on everyday and I've bought OPI products from there at a very low price. I've been wanting a matte top coat for a while now and I just happened too look in Sally's and saw this set, it was in the sale for £10.45 which is an extremely low price, so how could I say no? As the bottle are full size it's a absolute bargain!

So on with the review, I first tried the Matte Top Coat as I was most curious about this one, but my initial thoughts were not very good as it chips really easily and when applied it seems to take off some of the underneath nail polish. So I was extremely disappointed with this product as I only bought the set in order for this and with it being OPI I had high expectations.

The Top Coat, i have tried many to coats but this OPI top coat is extremely hard wearing and is very glossy, really nice to apply and a all round great Top Coat. There's not actually much to say about a good top coat because its clear and not pigmented ha ha, but I would recommend it if your looking for a good gloss.

Finally the Nail Lacquer, it is a seriously sparkly top coat as expected and is really shiny, it looks great on top of another colour or even by its self if you layer it up. As its a glitter I recommend a clear top coat on to but when you do it looks absolutely beautiful

How To Create A Perfect Foundation Base For Pale Skin

Hi everybody, as us pale girlie's know that its hard to create perfect base on your skin without looking like Casper with 2 red splodges on your cheeks, its important to find the right blush to compliment your skin tone and to look natural, along with the perfect foundation, concealer, powder and so on... the amount of make up we girls buy is no body's business ha ha.

So with no further ado lets start the tutorial to give our pale skin some tender loving.
Here I am facially naked for the first time on blogger...
First smooth on A primer of your choice, I use Revlon Photoready to make my face feel like a baby's bottom and to cover up my pores.
Then use your foundation to map out your face, I use MAC Studio Sculpt in shade NC20, and I then blend it in with my Real Techniques Buffing Brush until I can no longer see any spots or insecurities.

After buffing all of your foundation into your skin, put Concealer on your nose, forehead, chin and underneath your eyes to brighten them up and to conceal any further insecurities.I use NYX Full Coverage Concealer in colour Porceline. Dab the concealer on with your ring finger (don't rub).

When you feel you face is perfectly concealed use a finishing powder underneath your eyes and forehead to
set your make up. I use Nyx Finishing Powder in Transparent with my Real techniques brush and dab it on my face.

When you feel your make up is all set, your ready to powder the rest of your face. I use Nyx Grinding Powder in Nude to give my face some coverage and a little colour.

After powdering your full face and you feel you want a little colour in your cheeks, follow this step but if not then your finished! To contour your cheeks slightly use a bronzing powder and work into just below your cheek bone. I use Benefits Hoola and my Real Techniques Powder Brush.

Then if you want to make your cheeks look sweat and flushed sweep a pinky blush across your cheek bones. I use MAC powder blush in Fleur Power with my Real Techniques Blush Brush.

To give the finishing touch to your look use a highlighter just above the cheek bones, nose and slightly on the forehead. I use MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Lighscapade with my Real Techniques Contour brush.

And Finally the finished look!

I hope you all enjoyed this tutorial as much as I did and I hope it has helped you to create the perfect foundation base for your skin.
Please leave comments on what you think!
Thank you!
xx

My Skin Regime

Hi everybody, As a typical 16 year old my skin is very temperamental and prone to blackheads and spots. I've suffered from quite bad blackhead on my nose since I was about 13 and in honesty I've never actually found a way to get rid of them totally. My spots have never been too bad as I only ever get the odd pimple around my forehead or chin. So I'd say I have combination to normal skin if I had to pick.

Anyway I recently got a whole new skin regime at Christmas and I was hoping that it would make my skin perfect (as all teens hopelessly wish for). I got 3 new items by the brand of La Roche-Posay as I'd heard really good reviews on You tube about them, I got Effaclar Duo which is a serum that is suppost to unclog pores, Rosaliac UV Legere which is a moisturiser and finally Effaclar which is a purifying foaming face gel ( I know they all have funny names).

Morning- I first use Clearasil Rapid Action Pads to tone my skin, I have used these since i was 13 and they really smooth out and calm my blackheads down. I them smooth Effaclar Duo serum all over my face and then use Rosaliac UV Legere moisturiser, I'm then ready to apply my make up.

Night- While showering i wash my face with Effaclar Face gel to get most of the days make up off, after I get out the shower i remove the rest of my make up with face wipes and then continue with my morning regime so my feels soft and squeaky clean for bed.

When I first started using the La Roche-Posay brand I didn't really notice a difference but within 1 or 2 days my forehead had broken out in a infestation of pimples which as i was really disappointed with as it was the Christmas season, but I realised that my new regime was just bringing out all of the oil that was under my skin and doing it good. I have now been using this new routine for nearly a month and I can say my skin has never felt so good, its smooth, silky and defiantly less oily. I've also noticed that it leaves a really nice base to apply make up on, so it now lasts longer and is more matte. Overall I would seriously recommend  this brand as my skin is now spot free and feels amazing, the brand is a little pricey as it ranges from around £13+ but it is absolutely worth it!

I hope this was useful for you and helped you improve your complexion
